Upon reading this story, I was very surprised with where it went and how events unfolded. To begin with, reading the individual stories was interesting and I preferred some over the others in terms of enjoyment. Some stories drew me in, others not as much and one or two were written in a way that left me wanting to explore it further, which is a credit to a good writer.
The artwork was good and especially when dealing with an original universe full of interesting looking locations and creatures, it maintained a great consistency throughout. It also had a great mixture of colours which blended in nicely.
I did enjoy the underlying themes the book addresses and how it's conveyed in a subtle manner as opposed to being shoved in your face, which can often happen with storytelling. For the purposes of this review, I'll allow readers to discover those for themselves as they may even be interpreted differently.
The idea of being told a story from various perspectives is an interesting concept and requires a lot of skill for a writer to pull this off. To me, I felt as though I was being handed individual jigsaw pieces. Each piece representing a different viewpoint and only at the end when all the pieces are collected can you truly see the bigger picture and that experience of seeing it all come together was just fantastic.
On the whole, I found the idea behind this book to be very unique and enjoyable. If you're someone who enjoys that sci-fi or futuristic setting then I would recommend this. Equally, if you're someone who enjoys seeing a story take place in a fictional world then it's also one to pick up. I have to praise the creators for not only the setting and characters but also the themes that are used throughout. Very well executed and very well thought out.
